Since 1984, the Foundation has held an annual legal competition to reward authors who have distinguished themselves through their writings. Since the competition began, the Foundation has granted a total of $362,000 to authors of the winning works.

The competition involves four categories: “legal article manuscript”, “monograph and treatise”, “new author” and “compilation and professional practice manual”.

These categories are presented alternately over a two-year period, other than the “legal article manuscript” category, which is repeated every year.
